    hariboo: top six space but no aliens shows/movies asked by @fixingontheday honorable mentions: cowboy bebop armageddon okay i didn’t want to make tl;dr comments on these but ladies and gents YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW HARD THIS WAS FOR ME. I WAS WEEPING (internally) AS ONE BY ONE SOME OF MY FAVE SCIFI/SPACE OPERAS FILMS/SHOWS WERE SYSTEMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED. let’s go first with the obvious ones: the fifth element, alien(s) films, predators, star trek (show and films), stargate, star wars, farscape, v!!, and then i was like OKAY I CAN DO THIS. TERMINATOR 2/T:SCC—ARE NOT IN SPACE!! WOEEEEEE. and then it was some legit hard time finding contender that were in space and had no aliens! i waffled on dark city bc yeah, the watchers are aliens right?, event horizon is super fucking creepy but not top six (one of the few films to ever creep me out.), the sphere takes place underwater!!! UGH, supernova isn’t that great, firefly/serenity aren’t top six, galaxy quest—aliens!!! DAMNIT, pitch black — techinally set in space as a different planet but ALIENSSSSSSS, still haven’t really finished solaris so DAMN ME, contact — only in space for a bit and also: ALIENS, starship troopers: alien bugs!!, total recall: also aliens!, treasure planet: ALIENS. the fountain doesn’t actually count. see what i went through! my heart could not take it. this was hardest thing everrrrrrrrr. weirdly it just made me miss space operas more!
